Our debut in the Dome did not turn out as we would have liked. We came up four points short of a good Walton team, but our players really gave outstanding effort. We didn't accomplish our goal of an opening win in the Dome, but we had several bright spots emerge.
Our defense which we believed to be a strength in preseason, played well. There is great room for improvement, but they worked hard to keep us within "striking distance" of the win until the end.
Our offense made some big plays and looked good at times, but we were unable to capitalize on opportunities and made too many assignment mistakes to sustain drives and keep our defense off the field.
From here, our task doesn't get any easier. We are back at work and preparing for our home opener against North Gwinnett, a team that defeated Walton in the 2007 semifinals and advanced to the championship game. Our coaches and players wil ...
